Backrooms is a creepypasta horror puzzle game that evokes a nostalgic feeling of being lost in an endless number of empty rooms with fluorescent lights.
You have to find a way out, but of course some "friends" don't want you to leave. If you don't "wake up" in time, your nightmares will drown you.
Where did it all start?
It all started with 4chan on the board /x/, dedicated to everything paranormal, in 2018, when an anonymous person posted a picture of a room with yellow wallpaper. At that moment, the "Cursed Images" meme (that is, cursed pictures) was gaining popularity, in which users shared strange images.
A year later, a thread appeared where users shared images of places that made people feel strange. And one anonymous person got the idea not only to post the same picture again, but also to write a short story in addition to it:
“If you're not careful enough to fall out of reality, you could end up in the Backstage, where there's nothing but the musty smell of old carpet, the madness of yellow wallpaper, the endless unbearable noise of fluorescent lights, and 600 million square miles of randomly arranged empty rooms. God forbid you hear something wandering nearby, because this very thing already knows about you for sure”
