Epidemic! this is perhaps one of the most creepy in its plot strategic games ever made (including because the threat described in it is, despite its fantastic nature, still real). The action takes place in the near future - a terrible future, in which the Earth was exposed to meteor shower. However, what these meteorites brought with them is much worse than themselves: they contain alien microorganisms that cause a deadly and incurable disease in humans, which has no cure, resulting in a global pandemic, not just an epidemic, on the planet. The player acts in the framework of a senior official of the World Health Organization and at the same time a famous doctor who is temporarily transferred dictatorial powers on the planet, and now only he can save her.

The gameplay consists of two parts. Meteorite rain does not stop, therefore, every effort must be made to bring down meteorites approaching the Earth using nuclear missiles. But (it’s as planned) you won’t be able to bring down all meteorites in any way, while some of them had already fallen to its surface by the time the game started, and you should decide what to do with the infected regions. Although, to a greater extent, the decision is to answer not the question “what?”, But the question “how?”, Or rather, how exactly to destroy these areas (for example, nuclear or biological weapons). At the same time, sick (and even healthy) people in these areas will, of course, perish en masse, but this is the price of the future: millions must perish in order for billions to be born in the future. The global goal of the game is to be able to prevent the extinction of humanity, while eliminating the spread of a pandemic with minimal casualties.

A kind of "moves" in the game are days, consisting of twenty-four hours. Your resources within each day are limited, and how to dispose of them also depends only on your decision (in particular, which meteorite to shoot down or which area of ​​the Earth to be “cleared” with one or another weapon). After the end of the day, information about your achievements is always issued, although the map of the globe, which is the main part of the game screen, constantly changes during the day, as the situation with infection on it is constantly changing. The interface in general is quite difficult, as well as some actions require a long order of actions for their implementation.

About the graphics, it has already been said above indirectly (unless you can add that the world map is drawn clearly and roughly simultaneously). Although - what graphics can you think of when the world is SUCH? This game is categorically not recommended for the faint of heart, but for cynics it will become just an amazing gift. Seriously, this is a really complex and demanding fair amount of convolutions strategy that will surely appeal to all fans of complex old games.
