Executioners

Executioners is a game of enormous rarity, an almost indie game from an extremely unknown now and then completely unknown developer, who will then give us Time Slaughter, as well as a real classic, even if it is not for 99% of players.

There is no one needless plot, background, justifications for what is happening. There are only two amazing heroes here, as if the video library of the 80s-90s border had descended from the movie screens. Although stop - why a hero? Two real sadistic villains! Meet Ripper and Guillotine. Ripper is a healthy guy in golden-colored clothes with a certain number of spikes; his outfit at the same time looks like a military uniform and conditional armor of a samurai; he has a decent shotgun as a weapon. A taller, more powerful guillotine uses a huge ax as a weapon. His appearance is also remarkable: the rocker-demon is the most, with a skull instead of a face and a studded leather jacket. And so, having chosen one of these worthy guys, we go to the streets of a conditional city - but not at all to kill unarmed people there (otherwise we would not have spread this game).

No - the streets are simply teeming with a huge number of other villains, not all of whom are people, but even those who are them look more than eccentric and are remembered forever. Such creatures in such outfits, perhaps, simply can not be found in any other game. The essence of the game, by the way, is the consistent passage of levels and the beating of enemies to death, that is, the most common beat-‘em-up. At first there is no weapon, you have to fight with your hands and feet, the blessing is that both the strengths and the heroes have different techniques for this. The level consists of several screens, as soon as everyone scored on one, we can go a little further (this is shown to us by the arrow-rocket with the men sitting on it ...), to a new screen, where a new battle awaits us.

The battles here are incredibly complex. Firstly, because already on the first screen you have to fight simultaneously with two opponents who attack precisely together at the same time. By the third, their number will increase significantly, and will increase with each new screen and each new level! Add to this the fact that passing the level is limited in time - and imagine what awaits you here. Moreover, the fighters from level to level are becoming stronger - very soon there will be creatures that can take half the health with one blow! Fortunately, the hero has several "lives", with "activation" the next time counter also starts anew (while we remain at the same location on the level where we died).

Actually, there is nothing more to say about the game itself. But about its appearance - a lot of everything. Because, looking at all this beauty, one simply cannot believe that this is a low-budget game of 1992. Yes, the distant backgrounds here are not particularly clear and detailed (although maybe this is for the best), but the immediate environment is great, and the characters are just brilliance: they are painted very large and perfectly clear!

And most importantly - it's just the fantastic atmosphere of this wonderful game, such that it simply cannot be expressed in words! After the murder of another punk monster, it seems that you are sitting not at the monitor screen, but standing at the slot machine, that now you’ll go off to eat a rare treat called meat pizza, drink a glass of citro and return to this amazing world of endless fantastic battles, as if nothing has changed over the past twenty years ... Then this feeling passes (far from painless, it should be noted, passes), but the heady delight from the game remains for a long time. It’s possible to understand why this thing is a masterpiece, only one who remembers * that * time and * those * games will be able to, but, nevertheless, this is a real masterpiece that receives a well-deserved highest rating and not just urgent, but strict recommendations for all lovers of antiquity. In the end, it remains only to advise stocking up some kind of ointment for the fingers, because already after the first level they will probably get very sick ...
