According to scenario on December 12, 1998, representatives of the most economically developed countries of the world gathered at a secret meeting in Geneva. On the agenda of the meeting was one question: creation of the international unit to combat the alien threat.

From the beginning of 1998, evidence that UFOs invade Earth’s airspace began to appear with frightening consistency. Rumors of inhuman experiments on people caused social hysteria, which further aggravated the situation.

Governments of different countries tried to solve the alien problem on their own, but it became clear that this was a worldwide problem. It was decided to create an international special organization to combat the alien threat (X-Com - Extraterrestrial Combat Unit), which will have access to the latest developments, the best pilots, soldiers, researchers and engineers of the Earth.

The game process consists of two parts. The 1st is the strategic management of X-Com bases, the assignment of research and production, and the decision-making to counter the alien invaders. If there are many such apostates - Game Over - the aliens will overrun the Earth.
